Goals to make my dream board reality

I created this dream board a few months ago. My intent is to have it printed and hang it a few places where I spend a lot of time, to keep me focused on the life I want to live. But I’ve decided I need concrete goals for how I’m going to get to that dream life. And now seems like a good time to make them. Call them New Year’s resolutions if you must. Here is one goal for each of the words above: Believe: Play praise music in the morning and believe it will be a good...

And here is the second one, my New Year’s Resolutions progress for August. Read two fiction and two nonfiction books: Done Go to the gym at least once a week: I didn’t go a single time in August. And I feel crappy about it and because of it. Finish five scrapbook pages a month: Looks like I uploaded nine to flickr and I have a couple more in the works. Send birthday cards before each person’s birthday: Nope. I think there was only one birthday in August and I missed it completely. Start composting: Done

Resolution update

August 1, 2008

I’ve been asked why I haven’t been updating my New Year’s resolutions progress. I’d been doing so well on them, I didn’t think it was worth reporting. But since it was requested, I’ll do it today. Read two fiction and two nonfiction books: Done Go to the gym at least once a week: Haven’t been too great this summer. I’m making this a priority for August. Finish five scrapbook pages a month: I’m pretty sure I’ve passed this goal every month since I last reported. Send birthday cards before each person’s birthday: I got a little bit lazy on...

I’d have to look at the book I just finished but off the top of my head, I think I did three or four. bummer. Send birthday cards before each person’s birthday: I did send them, just not quite on time. Again. Start composting: Yes, we started collecting stuff...

It’s that time again. two fiction and two nonfiction books: Two novels and one memoir (Helping Me Help Myself) down. Go to the gym at least once a week: I missed the week Mark was on spring break. Finish five scrapbook pages a month: I did at least that many digital pages, and they’ll be added to the slideshow soon. ** there all there now. every page I’ve ever done on the computer. Resolution update

March 1, 2008

Read two fiction and two nonfiction books: I’ve already finished two novels. The second was Patty Jane’s House of Curl by Lorna Landvik. LEO and I are going to read a book together now. Likely to be something memoir-ish, though the one we wanted has a huge backlog at the library so we haven’t settled that matter yet. Go to the gym at least once a week: I think I went at least once every week in February, and twice most weeks. Finish five scrapbook pages a month: Well, what do you know? I just notice I wrote month...

Resolutions update

February 3, 2008

Read two fiction and two nonfiction books: As mentioned the other day, I finished one fiction book. Since it didn’t take me long, I thought maybe I’d try to read the Bible for a month instead of delving into a new book but I just can’t get motivated to do it. After hearing Lorna Landvik speak today, I think I may just get another of her novels. Go to the gym at least once a week: I think I missed one week but went twice the other weeks. Finish five scrapbook pages a month: I counted my total pages...
