Kids’ lunch box giveaway

July 25, 2010

Kelly Lester, who wrote the recent guest post about Momables, gave me an EasyLunchbox set to review, and we are loving them. We haven’t used them for a full lunch yet, being summer. But we have packed a nice array of snacks for trips to the playground. I liked them because:

  • I could pack snack-sized portions rather than the whole package of each item.
  • I didn’t need to use bags that would later be thrown away.
  • I didn’t need to find a bunch of little containers and then find something to carry them all in.
  • Each kid got their own lunchbox so there was no fighting over who got more of one thing or another.
  • Three boxes fit neatly into the provided cooler.

I’m excited to pack fun lunches for Grace when she starts all-day kindergarten this fall. I doubt I’ll always ever be as creative as Melissa at Another Lunch but I’m hoping to make things cute enough to get Grace to try some things she otherwise wouldn’t eat.

A few other things to like about EasyLunchboxes:

  • They’re made from non-toxic, food-safe plastic with no BPAs or pthalates.
  • They are safe to use in the dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer.
  • They are very sturdy. They don’t warp like similar disposable products.
  • They are perfect for the first three of my eight tips to make food fun for kids.

Now Kelly is giving a set to one of my readers! I will choose a winner Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 10 p.m. Central time. For your chance to win:

  • Go to the EasyLunchbox site and then come back here and leave a comment here saying what you like best about the product.
  • Leave a comment saying what you like about the EasyLunchbox Web site (optional for a 2nd entry).
  • “Like” me on facebook (optional for a 2nd or 3rd entry).

The fine print: The winner gets four containers and one lunch bag, the color of their choice. The retail value of this giveaway is $21.90. This giveaway is offered to US & Canadian residents only. Please do not enter this giveaway if you have won or received free product from EasyLunchboxes within the past 3 months. I was not compensated for this review but I got one set of EasyLunchboxes for free and so will one of you.

This is the second review I have seen for these tonight. Both have been very positive and have me really wanting to try these for myself!! I think they would be perfect for park playdates this summer but also for our school lunches next year. :)

I am also glad to see they are BPA free and dishwasher safe.

I also “liked” you on Facebook just now. :)

This is perfect for kids lunches. I hate using lots of bags and this would totally save me from having to use so many. I hope I win these!

I sooo need all the help I can get getting my kids to eat better – a lunch box like this might be just the ticket – instead of grabbing bags of unhealthy pre-packaged crap and putting it in my bag ~ This looks like just the thing to get my kids interested vs. a simple container of a single kind of fruit.

I don’t just like you on FB – I LOVE you!

What do I like about the product? I’m most excited that the cooler can hold it comfortably with extra room for a drink and ice brick. And that it’ll last longer than the disposable version at the store.

RE the website: What’s not to like? The gallery’s great. The testimonials tell me what I need to know. It’s all good. :)

  8. Lindsey on July 26, 2010 at 1:41 pm

And I’m already a fan of your FB page. See? A perfect triple entry. :)

What I love about the Easy Lunchboxes is that it is all one piece. I have tried other bentos and they are tons of removable compartments – so much to clean.

What I love about their site – the lunch box ideas! I am always in a rut when it comes to packing lunch for the kids.

  11. Andrea on July 26, 2010 at 2:36 pm

    I “like” you on FB

  12. Monkeymama Sarah on July 27, 2010 at 1:12 pm

These look great! I like them because a good sized lunch would fit in 1 container and the compartments keep things from mixing.

  13. Monkeymama Sarah on July 27, 2010 at 1:14 pm

I checked out the Easy Lunchbox site and I really like the lunch ideas. I’ve tried to get started making bento lunches before, but have trouble thinking of quick, easy foods that my kids will eat. I’m booking marking the Easy Lunchbox site so that I can return when I need ideas.

I like you on Facebook for a 3rd entry! :)

  15. Marilyn (A Lot of Loves) on July 27, 2010 at 6:28 pm

I like that the boxes don’t contain chemicals like BPA.

  16. Marilyn (A Lot of Loves) on July 27, 2010 at 6:29 pm

I think their website is easy to navigate and I like the photo gallery of lunch ideas.

    I like you on Facebook!

  18. Amy on July 27, 2010 at 9:34 pm

I like that they are BPA free and micro/dishwasher safe.

  19. Amy on July 27, 2010 at 9:36 pm

sounds funny but the website makes me have the warm fuzzy’s. Like the person who’s trying to get me to buy them isn’t bs’ing me. Does that even make sense.

I’m #94 on the peeps who “like” you. :)

I just love having something reusable with a cooler that goes with it. I would love these!

  23. Liz on July 30, 2010 at 11:46 pm

I love all the lunch ideas I get from the pictures on the website!

  24. Liz on July 30, 2010 at 11:46 pm

And I follow you on facebook!

  25. Kate on August 1, 2010 at 1:35 pm

This would totally help me lessen my use of plastic baggies. And also that you can take more than one item without the items mixing together (I hate when that happens : )

  26. Kerry on August 3, 2010 at 2:14 pm

The thing I like best is that these lunch boxes are made for a 3 course lunch in one container. This would be great for my 6 year old starting grade 1 this fall. He wouldn’t have to open up 3 different containers, just 1.

  27. Kerry on August 3, 2010 at 2:15 pm

What I like best about their website is the lunch ideas. There are so many different things to make for kids lunches there that I never even thought of.
